The nelfood.com Story
nelfood.com grew out of the Physical Properties of Food DataBase project.
This project was initiated to collect and make available on the internet reliable and useful data on Physical Properties of Foods.
The project was part funded by the EU, received commercial sponsorship from Nestle, RHM and Unilever, was managed by Dr Paul Nesvadba, and the internet work was done by NEL.

Known Bugs

Browser Compatibility

The database has been designed to work with Microsoft Internet Explorer 4 and above and Netscape Navigator 4.5 and above.  However there are a few known compatibility problems with the use of Netscape browsers.  These will be resolved ASAP.

Data Entry:

When inputing Materials Data, this DOES NOT WORK with Netscape at present.  This is know problem and is being worked on.

 

Experimental Data Sets: Error with Parameter data

At the moment all experimental data sets have been imported from Profind.  While the bulk of this is ok, some Experimental data sets have 2 or more sets of data in the same experiment, which is not how the new database is structured.  This currently causes the display of such experiments to fail.  In the testing / input of data, the offending data sets will be corrected.
