The nelfood.com Story
nelfood.com grew out of the Physical Properties of Food DataBase project.
This project was initiated to collect and make available on the internet reliable and useful data on Physical Properties of Foods.
The project was part funded by the EU, received commercial sponsership from Nestle, RHM and Unilever, was managed by Dr Paul Nesvadba, and the internet work was done by NEL.

Session TimeOut

In order to allow data entry and modification, the website must keep a "session" open for all active connections. Keeping this session requires resources and is why the site can slow down when a lot of users are on at the same time.
To conserve server resources connections where no new page has been requested for about 20 minutes (inactive connections) are closed and the resources recovered. If one of these connections is yurs, then next time you request a page you will see the Session TimedOut page similar to this one below:

Logging in will normally send you to the initially requested page.
