The nelfood.com Story

nelfood.com grew out of the Physical Properties of Food DataBase project. This project was initiated to collect and make available on the internet reliable and useful data on Physical Properties of Foods. The project was part funded by the EU, received commercial sponsership from Nestle, RHM and Unilever, was managed by Dr Paul Nesvadba, and the internet work was done by NEL. Material Query
An alternative to searching for data from the Literature Reference direction, users can search for data from the material or experiment point.
Search: Categories
This allows the user to select the category, sub-category and property that they are interested in. The lists are all linked allowing quick drill-down capabilities.
This example shows results for Thermal Diffusivity of hen's eggs.
Search: Names
This allows the users to specify the material's name when searching for relevent materials.
This example shows a result when searching for salmon.
Search: Property
This allows the user to search for experiemnt that meet a particular property requirement.
This example shows the start of the results where the property contains the term isotherm.
