This project was initiated to collect and make available on the internet reliable and useful data on Physical Properties of Foods.
The project was part funded by the EU, received commercial sponsership from Nestle, RHM and Unilever, was managed by Dr Paul Nesvadba, and the internet work was done by NEL.

Building Tables of Experimental Data Help

This form is used to categorise the properties that are being reported. It deals with the data collated on Table 5 and Table 6 of the Proforma for Data Entry to Database of Physical Properties of Foods version 6.1.

Category Select the category that best describes the property from the drop down list that appears after clicking the down arrow with the mouse. The selection is made by moving the highlight bar up and down using the mouse. The highlighted category is selected.

After selecting a category, the table of properties, their units, and ranges changes to the set for the selected category.

For each category a primary property  (Independent Variable no. 1 for Table 6 from v6.1 of the proforma) is selected by using the mouse to click the circle to the immediate right of the property's maximum allowed value. Only one primary property may be selected and the system will only allow one property to be selected at a time. This property must be selected before any data can be added.

All Material Properties (Material Property No 1 to n from Table 6 from v6.1 of the proforma) are then identified by selecting the appropriate box in the right most column of the table. Selected properties will have a check in this box. There is no limit to the number of properties that may be selected.
