The nelfood.com Story
nelfood.com grew out of the Physical Properties of Food DataBase project.
This project was initiated to collect and make available on the internet reliable and useful data on Physical Properties of Foods.
The project was part funded by the EU, received commercial sponsership from Nestle, RHM and Unilever, was managed by Dr Paul Nesvadba, and the internet work was done by NEL.

Table 4 Mapping

Table 4 of the proforma is mapped directly to the Characterising the Food Material form.

Note: The number fields on the form do not accept ranges of numbers or limits of numbers. Therefore it is not acceptable to enter, e.g., Water Content 12-15%. This is wrong because the field does not accept ranges (12-15) and because the field does not accept non-numerical characters (- and %).
