The nelfood.com Story
|
nelfood.com grew out of the Physical Properties of Food DataBase project. This project was initiated to collect and make available on the internet reliable and useful data on Physical Properties of Foods. The project was part funded by the EU, received commercial sponsership from Nestle, RHM and Unilever, was managed by Dr Paul Nesvadba, and the internet work was done by NEL. Table 5 Mapping
Table 5 identifies the category that the reported properties are within.
In earlier development versions of the database, this table mapped onto the Building Tables of Experimental Data form.
Problems with the database functionality meant that, if the property desired was
not available from the displayed list when you had navigated that far through
the data entry, an invalid set of experimental data would be generated. This set
would corrupt the experiment and require that it was deleted. Feed back from
testers identified this as being unacceptable.
Currently, this option is disabled, with all properties being selected from a single list.
If there is a strong need for reinstating the property categories, please
contact you administrator or contact us directly at nesvadba@evitherm.org.
